STORAGE UNIT SIZES FOR ALL TYPES OF CARS

Our ISO standard car containers (20-40ft in length) are 8ft wide: the industry standard for garage doors. This width comfortably fits a Land Rover Velar, a Mitsubishi L200 4-door pickup, or a BMW X4, for example.

LENGTH OF CAR STORAGE

The length of our car storage units ranges from 20 to 40ft containers. Our 20ft car storage containers are perfect for one mid-sized car through to a large pickup, with a little extra storage for any of your car necessities: cleaning supplies, spare tyres, and any repair or maintenance tools.

Our 40ft containers are perfect for two large cars or a camper van, plus any extra bulky items that typically hog space in your garage: motorbikes, bicycles, surfboards, canoes, kayaks, and more.

2. ON-SITE CHECK-IN AND STORAGE 

Once you’re onsite, a team member will greet you, get you set up with your storage facility, and sign you on to your best-fit storage plan – little or large. The team is also on hand to drive your car into the unit if you need support.

3. YOUR CAR, YOUR TERMS, ACCESS WHENEVER YOU WANT

From there on in, you can access your car whenever you want. Take it for a drive on a long weekend, take the family away in the camper on that trip you’ve been planning for years, or finally seal the deal and sell your car on. It’s up to you!

TITAN Containers car storage costs range from as little just a few euros per day for our smallest container through to our largest containers at under €10 per day (location dependent). Our storage costs come in below average for car storage in Ireland, making it one of the cheapest car storage options on the market.

Our car storage contracts are a minimum 30-day sign up. After that, you just need to provide 7 days’ notice if you’d like to remove your car from storage—all pre-paid costs will be reimbursed.

HELPFUL TIPS BEFORE PUTTING YOUR VEHICLE IN A CAR STORAGE UNIT

As you prepare to stow away your prized possession, here are some practical tips to ensure that your car remains in pristine condition during its time in storage:

• CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL
  Changing the engine oil is crucial for preventing startup issues after storage. Aged or contaminated oil can thicken, potentially causing damage.
• WASH IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE IT

Washing and waxing your car before storing it will shield your car from potential corrosion from bird droppings that you’ve missed, and other acidic substances from the outside world. Don’t forget to thoroughly clean the inside to fend off mould residue and food rot. This will ensure your car is spotless and odourless on your return.

• DISCONNECT THE BATTERY

No one wants to come back to their car, switch the ignition on, and just hear the dreaded “click click click”. To keep your battery safe and avoid any acid leaks, ensure you’re either using a trickle charger or simply disconnect the battery.

• AVOID USING THE HANDBRAKE

Whilst using the parking brake is generally a smart move, it’s a different story when your car is in storage. Leaving the brake engaged for too long may lead to brake pad seizure. We recommend chocking the tyres with wooden blocks—give your brakes a break.

• CONSIDER COVERING IT

Yes, at TITAN Containers car storage your vehicle will be dry, protected from the sun, and kept at a safe temperature. However, leaving your car with its own PJs is never a bad idea.

• KEEP THE INSURANCE GOING

Some people might be tempted to cancel their insurance since their car will be out of action for a while. As good as it sounds, it’s not a great idea since once you resume the insurance company will most likely up your rates due to the gap in coverage. This could end up costing you more in the long run.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU’RE DONE STORING YOUR CAR

1. Check the battery cable: if you disconnected the battery cable for storage, reconnect it and ensure that the battery terminals are clean.
2. Check the windscreen wipers: to see if the rubber is cracked or brittle.
3. Check the tyre pressure: you may need to inflate the tyres to your recommended specs.
4. Check the brakes: rust may have accumulated on the brake disks. In most cases, a short, cautious drive will clear it.

Check fluids: to make sure there have been no leaks and that they’re at the recommended levels.
