Flexible blast freezing capacity supporting production growth in food manufacturing

When Crafty Ramen expanded operations into a new production facility in Orangeville, the company quickly discovered that the existing freezing infrastructure could not support growing production demands.

Rather than investing in a costly permanent upgrade and risking significant downtime, the business turned to TITAN Containers for a rapidly deployable blast freezing solution.

The challenge

Crafty Ramen is a growing food manufacturer producing reimagined ramen products for the North American market. As production volumes increased, the company needed reliable freezing capacity capable of supporting fast-moving manufacturing operations and future growth.

The company had taken over an existing production facility that included what was believed to be a functioning blast freezer solution. However, once production demands increased, it became clear that the inherited setup could not deliver the rapid cooling performance required for efficient large-scale operations.

The freezing process quickly became a critical production bottleneck.

The traditional alternative would have required a permanent infrastructure upgrade estimated at approximately $250,000, along with significant operational disruption and production downtime.

For a growing manufacturer operating under production pressure, neither the cost nor the disruption was considered commercially viable.

“The ‘normal’ solution was going to be a $250k upgrade, plus a lot of downtime. We could not afford either.”

The solution

TITAN Containers supplied a 20ft ArcticBlast unit installed externally in the facility parking area, providing rapid blast freezing capacity directly connected to operations.

The modular setup allowed Crafty Ramen to avoid major construction work while quickly introducing the freezing capacity needed to support production growth.

Crafty Ramen first submitted a request for quotation on March 10, 2026, and confirmed the order on April 9, 2026, with a requirement to have the solution operational within three weeks.

TITAN Containers delivered the unit on May 1, 2026, matching the customer’s required timeline and allowing the company to move forward without extended disruption to operations.

The result

The ArcticBlast solution removed a critical operational bottleneck and enabled Crafty Ramen to continue scaling production without costly infrastructure delays.

Key outcomes included:

  • Eliminated production downtime
  • Avoided major capital infrastructure investment
  • Restored efficient production flow
  • Introduced rapid blast freezing capacity
  • Supported continued operational growth
  • Delivered a flexible solution within a tight deployment timeframe

“Problem solved. Bottleneck removed.”

Supporting scalable food manufacturing

For food manufacturers operating in fast-moving production environments, freezing capacity can quickly become a critical operational constraint.

This project demonstrates how modular blast freezing solutions can help manufacturers respond to growth, infrastructure limitations, and operational pressure without long construction timelines or major disruption to production.
