Prepare your site, clear the route and reduce delays with our handy pre-delivery guide.
When you buy or rent a container from TITAN Ireland, we’ll not only deliver it to your chosen address, but we’ll also have a crane available (attached to the delivery truck in most cases) so that it can be manoeuvred into position exactly where you need it.
Need your container lifted over a 6ft hedge or a wall? No problem. Want it slotting into a precise space? Just ask.
However, there are limits as to what we can do – and we also need you to prepare your site before our arrival.
We provide container delivery across Ireland, and we need someone to meet us when we deliver it so that we know exactly where to position it.
Here are our top 8 tips to ensure your delivery goes as seamlessly as possible.
Your container must be placed on a stable, level, and firm surface (don’t forget to check for any underground services). You may need to prepare what’s known as a foundation if the container is going to be positioned in a garden or on sand or soil. This can help keep your container level, stop it sinking and prevent corrosion.
Ensure that there are no bushes, branches, wires, or other obstacles in the way of the delivery truck when entering, and also make sure the crane will have clear space for lifting the container to its designated spot. Move any parked trailers, caravans, cars or similar items if they obstruct the path of the delivery vehicle. If there’s a gate code, you can provide it to us in advance, if you wish, so that we can let ourselves in.
Most loaded TITAN UK trucks are 4.5m high, 2.5m wide and 16.5m long, so please be sure they can reach your drop-off point safely. A 40ft vehicle is longer still: 22.5m. 2 x 20ft containers usually come on a truck measuring 18.5m-18.65m. If we’re delivering to an enclosed area, make sure someone can let us in! Any access permits/restrictions such as time limits or controlled parking zones are to be managed/borne by the customer.
Our standard crane can typically lift the container up to 4m away from the truck – sufficient for 90% of customers. However, if you wish to have your container lifted a greater distance, you’ll need to request a larger crane.
There should be a clearance of at least 8m in height, and the road width should be at least 6m. This will provide the crane with optimal working conditions when installing your container.
If arranging the pickup of a loaded container, please ensure that the total weight (including household belongings or any other goods inside) does not exceed 2.7 tonnes. Excess weight could prevent the crane from lifting it.
Your delivery price includes 30 minutes for the truck/crane to be at your location. If it takes longer to position the container – for example, due to obstacles blocking the way or the foundation not being prepared beforehand – we will need to charge an additional fee to cover our costs. If, due to the site not being prepared, this results in the delivery/collection being rescheduled for another day/time – we will need to charge for the failed journey.
When returning a container after rental, please make sure it has been emptied and cleaned inside before arranging pickup. Please also ensure the surrounding area is clear, as outlined in points 2 and 3, failed collections due to unprepared onsite conditions will incur a fee.
