TITAN Containers’ cold storage solutions were developed by leading specialists in the fields of insulation and refrigeration. All reefer container hire models have a comparatively low CO2 footprint, which is achieved through latest-generation refrigeration equipment that enables energy efficiency, plus high-performing insulation materials.
Most units also come with an inbuilt optional ‘economy’ mode which allows them to operate at a lower fan speed. This further helps to cut down total energy use.

How do refrigerated storage containers work?
Refrigerated containers – also known as reefer containers – are essentially large, walk-in freezers. Heavily insulated to protect goods inside the container from external temperatures, they use a compressor to extract heat from the air, while fans circulate the remaining cold air.
Most refrigerated containers offer a wide range of temperature settings, enabling both frozen and chilled storage – they act as both fridge and freezer. TITAN’s ArcticStore container, for example, can be set to any temperature between -40°C and +45°C, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
Specialist refrigerated storage containers, such as blast freezers for fast freezing and ultra freezers for extreme temperatures, are also available. These use slightly different chilling technology than standard reefers.

What if we could make our already energy-efficient range of ArcticStore containers even kinder on the environment and our customers’ bottom line? That was the challenge we put to our engineers as part of TITAN’s ongoing quest to help businesses lower their carbon footprint and reduce their energy bills.
The result is ArcticStore Tropical – so named because of the original concept of reducing power consumption in tropical zones with year-round hotter climates. It is the last word in energy-efficient cold storage.
If you were to turn an ArcticStore Tropical off when the temperature was at -40°C, it would take almost 50% longer to warm up to zero degrees than an original design ArcticStore container.
Under controlled testing, the heat leakage at 20°C K20, W/m2 K was reduced by as much as 50% – and by an average of 30%. Proof positive of its phenomenal improved insulation values.
What this means to a business is less energy use overall. With the insulated walls acting as an incredibly effective barrier against external temperatures, you can maintain the internal temperature you need using less electricity.
In tests of the electric consumption over 24hrs at an ambient 25℃, while keeping the temperature at -40℃ – measured by an exterior electricity meter – the kWh was reduced by an average of 13-14%. Please get in touch with our specialist team for more details.

While many customers prefer to rent portable cold store solutions from us, we are, of course, happy to accommodate clients who have the need or desire to buy cold storage containers from us.
We offer brand new (never used), lightly used and older rental fleet units. Depending on the quality required, lead-time for a cooler purchase is normally between 10 – 90 days. If you need cold storage faster than this, we can supply you with a rental solution for the interim period at a discount.
Supplementary services and support like SmartArctic remain available subject to additional fees.
