SOME OF THE MORE COMMON STORAGE USE FOR ARCTICSTORES INCLUDES
Foods: Fresh and frozen foods of all descriptions can be stored. We offer fresh air exchange, controlled and modified atmosphere options.
We also supply mobile rapid tempering, chilling and blast freezing treatment containers.
See also Event catering
Pharma: For pharmaceutical storage and Bio, Life Sciences applications.
We have the added advantage that ArcticStores with Magnum plus refrigeration can be GDP certified.
Also ultra cold vaccine storage -40°C/-65°C
Applications: We are often used by the automobile and other engineering industries, universities and tech trials and for cold testing components and products.
We are similarly used by museums, hotels, schools and others where ArcticStores erradicate bed bugs and similar infestations.
Event caterers need reliable suppliers who deliver on time and understand the nature of the event business. We understand the requirements and our equipment not only keeps everything cold but also has the added benefits of making life easier for the users.
The one-hand door opening and closing is a great advantage compared with normal reefer containers where doors are often never really closed leading to heat gain and by comparison massive power bills. As darkness approaches the internal lighting makes finding what is needed easier. Less time wasted is to everyone's benefit.
Event customers not only rent cold store containers, standard and full side access storage containers are also often requested. TITAN's containers are perfect to ensure cold food and beverages, better ergonomics and staff efficiency and improved customer satisfaction.

SAFE STORAGE WITH DRY ICE
Dry ice starts to vaporize (change from dry ice to gaseous CO2) in temperatures warmer than very chilly -78.4C°C/-109°F for non-degrading storage the temperature needs to be at or lower than these temperatures. TITAN’s latest UltraFreezer can maintain close to these temperatures in moderate ambient temperatures. The shelf life of the dry ice is greatly extended even at slightly warmer temperatures.
The use of mechanical refrigeration in containers, to store dry ice, presents other issues users need to be aware of and pay attention to. IF the dry ice is converting to gaseous CO2 then the closed container will experience atmospheric modification creating a CO2 rich atmosphere.
Further, gaseous CO2 has a much greater volume than dry ice and if stored in an air tight container an over-pressure can occur with the potential of the container exploding. ArcticStores include floor drains in each corner. If you wish to store dry ice then these drains should be permanently open allowing the gaseous CO2 (that naturally sinks as heavier than air) to exit the container through these drains. The area around the container should be ventilated at ground level to disperse the CO2.
The storage of dry ice needs take these and other potential hazards like frostbite and ice burns into account and should only ever be performed by experienced personnel with required training and expertise.
There is the potential of real and serious health hazards when storing and handling dry ice. Particularly for anyone entering the container before the entire container is flushed by opening the door for a period of time.
RETAIL, CATERING, BAKERIES AND EVENTS - EXTRA PORTABLE REFRIGERATED STORAGE SPACE
Supermarkets, hotels, caterers and event organisers are very regular year round customers storing everything from prepared meals to beer and soft drinks.
Our 1-hand opening doors means everyone can easily open and close the door. The internal lights are great attributes for especially these customers who often need to use the temporary cold store after the hours of darkness.
ArcticStores are fitted with door lock and air curtains. A purpose built ramp is supplied unless otherwise agreed.
1000 pints of beer or soft drinks will be chilled by 25C in less than 1½ hours when using the high speed fans.
This fast pull down also ensures fast recovery to set point where the doors are being opened and closed frequently at shows, festivals, concerts and other events. TITAN supply all types of caterers, from some of the world's largest breweries, catering companies to the local boy scouts serving burgers at the town fair.
When you rent do you get something like below? If you don't then call TITAN the next time you need refrigerated storage space!
FRESH AND FROZEN MEAT AND POULTRY STORAGE
Australian producers, distributors and outlets can now realise advantage from our temperature controlled storage solutions.
With operating range from -40C to +45C TITAN's 10', 20' and 40' ArcticStores and the bigger SuperStores provide a myriad of opportunities for all involved in the meat industry. From farm shops to the biggest supermarkets and including the meat cold chain logistics operators all require effective efficient and affordable short and medium term mobile cold storage for meat and meat products.
Perfect hygiene, user friendly and 100% affordable our cold stores need to be seen to be believed.
FRESH & FROZEN FISH AND SHELLFISH
Is another common application. Our containers feature hermetic drains and are easy to clean to maintain hygienic conditions in the cold store.
Oily fish are often best stored at -30/40C and Tuna even colder at -50/60C. ArcticStores operate as low as -40C and our Arctic Ultra Freezer is great for storing Tuna at down to -60C.
Low fan speed at chill temperatures reduces dehydration of unprotected fish during storage.
ArcticStores include 4 hermetically sealing drains, 1 in each corner, in the event you are storing wet fish with ice.
FRUIT AND VEGETABLE STORAGE FOR GROWERS AND DISTRIBUTORS
Improve shelf-life and quality through the controlled fresh air exchange is standard on the majority of the units. Controlled or modified atmosphere options are available.
ArcticStores can also be used to remove field heat from produce. 1000 KG of most fruit types can be cooled by 25C within 2 hours.
FLOWERS AND PLANT STORAGE
Fresh air exchange improves storage environment for cut flowers and living plants. Our containers have also been used to delay and advance flowering of bulbs and other plants. They have also been used in the production of infant trees and various types of mushrooms - low fan speed reduces plant dehydration.
All forms of plant and crop seeds can be stored in ArcticStores. In the event you need to fumigate please do not do this in refrigerated containers as the gases can cause permanent damage to the container and machinery.
DAIRY PRODUCT STORAGE
Most milk and related dairy products can be stored in our cold stores. The precise zone temperature control throughout and easy cleaning of the food grade stainless steel interiors create a perfect environment for all dairy products at manufacturers or through the cold chain that follows.
INDUSTRIAL MATERIALS AND PRODUCTS
Modern industrial materials often best stored in at an optimal temperature. This includes such materials as fibres and adhesives but many chemicals need to be kept within certain temperature bands prior to use.
ArcticStores operate between -40C and +45C and for really warm temperatures we have the HotStore that will maintain up to +60C.
COLD TESTING OF COMPONENTS AND PRODUCTS
As we expand activities into more hostile environments cold testing of individual components and complete products has become a regular requirement.
Our regular ArcticStores will maintain as low as -40C and are large enough to get a completed car inside for testing.
HOW TO KILL BED BUGS AND CARPET BEETLES IN CLOTHES, FURNITURE & FURNISHINGS
ArcticStores are often used by museums and private people to eradicate infestations in furniture, clothes, bed linen, curtains, carpets, fabrics and even cars!
As we travel more it seems there is an increasing tendency that sometimes we bring unwanted house guests back with us! 48-72 hours in a container at -40°C and they are dead as the core temperature of all contents will be well below their tolerance!! Heat over +45°C can also be used.
At certain locations this can be formed at a TITAN site otherwise we can deliver the ArcticStore to your nominated address.
LET TITAN KILL YOUR BED BUGS AND CARPET BEETLES WITH -40°C
To really have success you need to get rid of bedbugs from everything at the same time.
With an ArcticStore refrigerated container we can freeze all your belongings, large and small, to minus 40°C. We recommend 24/48 hours with a reasonably full container to ensure -40°C core temperature as many fabrics have good insulation effect. Thereafter a gradual warming of the container.
For your information and consideration. Most products can be frozen without causing damage but excluding products containing fluids.
Apart from where shown we normally freeze to -40°C improving effect and reducing the time required. You should consider freezing all fabrics including the following household items:
- All types of indoor and outdoor clothing.
- All furniture with fabric content, curtains, mats and carpets
- Modern books and other documents - not antique!
- Bags, shoes and suitcases
- Mattresses, cushions, pillows and all forms of bed linen
- Jewellery, pictures and play toys
- Electronics - not LCD/plasma screens
- Cars and boats - not below anti-freeze rating
To be 100% effective requires core temperature of -18°C or lower for 2-4 days. We freeze to -40°C for 2 days (recommended) followed by a gradual heating to +20°C.
