Applicant: Burattino Primary and Vocational School and Children’s Home
Location: Budapest, Hungary

When a school/children’s home near Budapest needed help storing donated furniture, they knew exactly who to contact.

TITAN Impact, our social initiative, is a great way for us to give something back to the many communities where TITAN has a base.

We’ve played a small part in making life better for people in the UK, Denmark and several other countries, and now we’re thrilled to add Hungary to the list.

Our colleagues in Budapest were contacted by the Burattino Primary and Vocational School and Children’s Home in the city. It’s a fantastic organisation that offers socially disadvantaged children sanctuary when they need it most.

Combining both school facilities and residential care under one roof helps kids avoid additional stress when they can no longer live at home.

The school is well known in Csepel, just south of the capital, which results in lots of furniture donations to kit out its many rooms.

Success on this front had led to a new problem they thought we might be able to help with: the school was running out of storage space for the furniture they received.

It was important for them to find a way to ensure these donations would be kept safe until the children in their care could use them.

A colossal 65of storage space

TITAN Budapest has eight self storage depots across the country, with a healthy supply of secure, dry units ready for business and private clients. When Burattino School and Children’s Home approached us for help, we jumped at the chance to get involved.

Based on the volume of furniture they had accumulated, we calculated they would need 2 x 20ft weatherproof storage containers.

That would give them just over 65to play with – ample space for dozens of chairs, wardrobes, beds and similar items.

The Burattino staff explained they would need the containers at least until September 2026, ready for a new intake of students.

We had the exact units they needed close by, and provided them for a token fee of just 25 Euros per month for the ten months they were required.

This extra space gives the school’s management some welcome breathing room and means they won’t have to turn down any much-needed donations.

From food banks to space stations

TITAN Impact came to life relatively recently after many years of ad-hoc acts of generosity by staff from across our global branches.

With a particular focus on local communities, sports associations and green initiatives, TITAN Impact is our way of giving back to worthy causes near our depots.

We welcome requests from registered organisations of all kinds, and have thus far assisted Save The Children in Denmark, a food bank in England, a cystic fibrosis home in Ireland and many other big-hearted endeavours.

Perhaps our most headline-worthy donation so far was a 40ft high cube container to Danish space architecture company SAGA Studio so they could create a lunar training facility.

The futuristic habitat they built was featured in the Wall Street Journal in autumn 2025.
